August 10, 2017 - August 31, 2017

  Artists's Reception THURSDAY AUGUST 10th from 5-7pm

CRAIG MOONEY While Mooney enjoyed growing up in the city, he was also drawn to the openness of the countryside. His earliest art works were inspired by magazine photographs of just such spaces. Today, he paints his figures, city scenes, and landscapes entirely from imagination.

BRANDON NEWTON paints with oil and a palette knife. His works glow with strong light and expressive sweeps of color. Inspired by an en plein air artist named Clifford Stterthwaite, Newton says he would see him almost every day painting. "His work made me see the world more clearly. That's what sparked me with the thought that you can really make a living by painting." Newton lives with his wife and four children on Martha's Vineyard.

WENDY WELDON started painting as a young girl, and has been a professional painter for over 30 years.  She paints colorful vibrant abstract shapes. The Keith Farm barn, visable from Middle Road in Chilmark, is often a subject in her work.  She paints in her studio in Chilmark, Massachusetts.
