Meg Mercier’s art training is in the Boston School tradition under Paul Ingbretson, a student of R. H. Ives Gammel. She began her studies in 1986 at the historic Fenway Studios in downtown Boston. While there she was a board member of the Copley Society, the oldest art association in America and was given the Excellence in Painting award. To compliment her intensive atelier work Meg spent summers painting en plein air. She worked with Robert Douglass Hunter on the Wyeth property along the Charles River and with John Osbourne of the Ridgewood Institute on the Island of Nantucket. Meg credits her opportunities as a young artist to study with such accomplished masters for the many awards and acknowledgements she has received.

Today, Meg’s studio is in the heart of Edgartown Village. She is constantly inspired by the natural and endless beauty of Martha’s Vineyard. The sunrise is one her favorite times to paint outside. She loves watching the incredible changing sky and the island waking up.
